Access for All
Section 508 is an amendment to the United States Workforce Rehabilitation Act of 1973 mandating that all electronic and information technology developed, procured, maintained, or used by the federal government be accessible to people with disabilities. It is the college’s responsibility to ensure that students, employees and the public have equal access to digital content across our campus.
Access for All is a series of workshops where you will discover the basic principles of accessibility. By considering different disabilities, you will understand the need for alternate forms of access and the concepts and techniques used to develop accessible content.
Microsoft PowerPoint Presentations
This is one of the workshops offered under the Access for All series. Are your presentations Section 508 compliant? Accessible presentations are required whether not a person with a disability will access the content. Attend this workshop to learn how to make your Microsoft PowerPoint Presentations compliant to ensure accessibility for all.
Presentation accessibility can be improved using guidelines for:
- Presentation Formatting
- Text Formatting
- Object Formatting
- Color Formatting
- Additional Accessibility Principles
Formatting a presentation with these guidelines not only supports individuals using assistive technologies, but improves usability for all individuals.
